When Britain goes to war against Germany in World War II, brilliant logician and cryptanalyst Alan Turing (Cumberbatch) leads a motley team of scholars, linguists, chess champions and intelligence officers in cracking the seemingly unbreakable codes of Germany’s Enigma Machine. In decoding critical German naval communications, all the while working under intense pressure, Turing helped shorten the war, saving thousands of lives.
