On 2nd September 1666, the city of London burnt to the ground and no one knew why, although there were theories abound that blamed arson, the devil and the French for this tragedy. Feelings of anger were at an all-time high but no one could feel as strongly about it as the people who lost everything in the fire and watched as everything they had worked to create went up in flames right before their eyes, sometimes along with their loved ones. This is an account of the events from the eyes of the people who were there and who suffered most due to the fire.
