Two strangers, Roman (Schwarzenegger) and Jake (McNairy), find their lives inextricably bound after a devastating plane accident. Roman, a construction foreman, is waiting for his wife and daughter to join him. However, their plane crashes when Jake, an air traffic controller, leaves his desk during his shift. Devastated, Roman is shocked when no one at the airport apologizes for the tragedy, and he's offered money instead. After Jake is hidden away for his safety, Roman attempts to hunt him down. He travels across the country to look Jake in the eyes and demand an apology.
