In a post-apocalyptic world, humanity has broken down and those who survive must constantly fight for the bare necessities of life. Still haunted by his chaotic past and the loss of his wife and child, Mad Max (Hardy) wanders alone through a barren desert landscape. He takes up with a group led by an elite Imperator, Furiosa (Theron), who have escaped an enraged warlord (Keays-Byrne) who now pursues them across the desert in a high-octane road war.
