Eccentric and reclusive locksmith A.J. Manglehorn (Pacino) has never gotten over the love of his life, whom he lost years ago due to a choice he deeply regrets making. He’s closer to his pet cat than with any people in his life and takes comfort in his daily routine, maintaining only sporadic contact with his son (Messina). Having built a delicate friendship with Dawn (Hunter), a woman he talks to at the bank every Friday, Manglehorn finally opens himself up to the possibility of a real relationship and leaving his murky past behind him.
