Newly promoted Police Sgt. Tommy Saunders (Wahlberg) is excited and honored to serve Boston in his new role. One of his first jobs is to police the Boston Marathon, a huge event for the city. Everything runs smoothly until multiple explosions suddenly rock the city. Joining the survivors and first responders, Sgt. Saunders attempts to save as many lives as he can. In the aftermath, a dedicated group of experts come together to hunt down the bombers. As the city unites, Tommy learns that love is a powerful weapon.
