Agnes (Macdonald) isn’t overly happy with her quiet suburban life where she does all the housework, cooking and generally everything else for her husband Louie (Denman) and adult children. After finishing a jigsaw puzzle that she got for her birthday, she responds to an ad that she finds requesting a partner for competitions and begins a partnership with wealthy puzzle champion Robert (Khan). As the two grow closer to each other, she finds in him all of the happiness that she’s missing in her marriage and in her life, and the two begin a relationship that goes beyond doing puzzles together.
