In early ‘90s Minnesota, Det. Bruce Kenner (Hawke) investigates the case of Angela Gray (Watson), who has accused her father, John (Dencik), of sexual abuse. Despite having no recollection of the event, John pleads guilty to the crime. When renowned psychologist Kenneth Raines (Thewlis) is brought in, he helps John retrieve his memories, which, far from providing clarity, make the case even more complicated. All the while, the media hints at conspiracy, and whispers are heard about a satanic cult being at the root of everything.
