In the near future, a failed experiment to counteract global warming has resulted in an ice age that wiped out nearly all life on earth. The few survivors live aboard a massive train, powered by a perpetual-motion engine, which circles the planet. A class system develops, with the elite living a privileged life at the head of the train and the poor living at the back. Unwilling to accept their lot in life, the poor stage the latest in a series of uprisings, installing Curtis Everett (Evans) as their leader.
