Based on the true story of an Allied platoon tasked with recovering some of the world’s greatest works of art from the Nazis at the end of the Second World War and returning them to their rightful owners. As the Third Reich begins to crumble, the German army is given orders to destroy every piece of art it possesses. These Monuments Men - an unlikely task force of museum directors, curators and art historians - are sent into Germany by FDR to save a thousand years of culture from destruction.
