During the Japanese occupation of Korea, Gwi-im is forcibly taken as a sex slave for Japanese soldiers. Despite the end of the war, Gwi-im fails to return home for the next 70 years. Her granddaughter, Hyang-ok, vows to take Gwi-im back home.
