Selma
2014 History
Over the course of three months in 1965, revered leader and civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr. (Oyelowo) went up against vicious opposition as he led a campaign to secure equal voting rights for all people. His struggles culminated in an epic march from Selma, Ala., to the state capitol of Montgomery and led to President Johnson (Wilkinson) signing the Voting Rights Act of 1965 -- one of the movement’s most significant victories.
