The saying "one man's trash is another man's treasure" definitely rings true for the trio of Colorado-based "MacGyver" wannabes featured on "Brainstormers." The guys' goal: build inventions that can fight bad weather or harness its power for everyday use. Their preferred materials: junk or, at least, what others might consider junk. For Poppy, Ryan and Bill, the term "junk" refers to items that can be re-purposed and used in the construction of their inventions. The guys sometimes work on their own projects, and other times they help backyard inventors like themselves improve their creations. Naturally, the group faces setbacks and challenges along the way as they work on their projects, which include creating a solar water heater and fixing a town's wind generator.
