The series, which examines the science behind the use of food as medicine, tracks the progress of experiments conducted on patients who have a range of medical conditions. The patients have detailed consultations with specialists, including a gastrointestinal and bariatric surgeon, a dietician and a general practitioner, before they are assigned a particular diet. Subsequent episodes detail how the patients are doing as they attend follow-up appointments to monitor their progress.
