This procedural drama revolves around Dominic Da Vinci, a former undercover police officer for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police who works as the coroner in Vancouver, B.C. Bringing his police mentality to his new job, the opinionated coroner makes just as many friends as he does enemies, in and out of the Vancouver Police Force. Da Vinci and his team of medical examiners investigate various crimes in the city and bring vigilantes to justice. While Da Vinci solves some of the most mysterious deaths on the west coast, his personal life and relationship with his ex-wife and teenage daughter are plagued by his drinking problem. The show is loosely based on the real life experiences of Larry Campbell, Vancouver's former chief coroner who was elected mayor in 2002.
