This psychological crime drama, written by Katie Baxendale, focuses on the life of former Greater Manchester Police constable Claire Church. The ex-officer tries to escape a dark past by rebuilding her life in the remote Western Isles with partner Norrie, but an unsolved case dating back to 1998 resurfaces to disrupt her seemingly idyllic world. The investigation of several missing women is reopened when bodies are discovered beneath a Manchester building. DCI John Hind, who was on the original case, remembers his former protege Claire wanted to delve deeper into the mystery before she was forced not to, and he encourages her to come back to help him catch the killer.
