The drive, determination, innovation and often sheer recklessness of men like Andrew Carnegie, John D. Rockefeller, Thomas Edison and Cornelius Vanderbilt made America the mightiest nation on Earth. Despite wealth and power, these titans of industry and captains of commerce were not always philanthropic, often driven by greed, ambition, jealousy and revenge. Relying on cinematic re-creations and commentary from historians and other authorities, "American Titans" reveals stories of those who outfought, outspent, and outsmarted rivals to steer the Industrial Revolution into the Gilded Age. Each hourlong episode presents a clash of two tycoons who were at odds, focusing on key moments of each mogul's career -- the first successes, the major hurdles, and the partnerships that either ended in glory or defeat.
