In this sitcom, Simon Amstell plays a TV presenter (and a version of himself) who decides to quit his job in an effort to do something more meaningful with his life. But that news doesn't sit well with Simon's mum, Tanya. Meanwhile, Simon doesn't think that Tanya's boyfriend, Clive, is the right man for her, which he struggles to make her realise. Each episode of the programme takes place in Grandma's house (hence the programme's title) as she welcomes her family, desperate to see everyone be happy.
