High Horse: The Black Cowboy

Documentary

Executive produced by Jordan Peele's Monkeypaw Productions, this three-part, pop culture and historical docuseries confronts and reclaims the Wild West. It reveals the story of the Black cowboy whose history has been stolen, erased and left untold. Featuring original interviews with Jordan Peele, Tina Knowles, Glynn Turman, Pam Grier, The Compton Cowboys, Rick Ross and Bun B, paired with archival footage, photographs and an original score by Raphael Saadiq, this series sets the record straight on the American Frontier. This rides into the forgotten corners of history, shattering myths and celebrating the Black cowboys, farmers, jockeys, musicians and rodeo champions who built the West -- and now reclaim their place in the saddle, sitting high on top of the horse.
