This drama series features Stephen Mangan as legendary writer Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Michael Weston as infamous magician Harry Houdini. In reality, the pair were friends, opponents and investigators, during the early 20th century where the scene is set. Escape artist Houdini believes in the science of magic, it is all an illusion or trick; in his world, the supernatural does not exist. On the other hand, Doyle is a strong believer of the paranormal after losing someone close to him. When the Metropolitan Police have some difficulty solving some strange cases, they call upon the help of the two artists to give a fresh insight into the events.
