`In Plain Sight' is a three-part crime-drama based on real life events that took place in 1950s and 60s Lanarkshire, starring Douglas Henshall and Martin Compston. The story follows detective William Muncie on his mission to bring to justice Scottish serial killer Peter Manuel. Muncie first encounters Manuel during a break in, which subsequently reveals the criminal's history of sexual assaults. In 1955, Manuel is released from prison and goes on a two-year killing rampage, murdering eight Lanarkshire locals. Difficult for the community police service to track down, Muncie makes it his priority to capture the convict at large.
