Archaeologist and explorer Ella al-Shamahi heads to the Amazon in search of ancient civilisations and lost cities. Using drones and the latest technology, archaeologists in South America have recently made astonishing discoveries, from mysterious geometric shapes in Brazil, to extensive prehistoric rock paintings in Colombia. Ella also meets members of local indigenous communities, and considers the future of these sites, many of which are threatened by deforestation and are the subject of land disputes.
