Kate and Koji feel as though they could not be two more different people from different worlds. Kate is the down-to-earth owner of a seaside cafe, where she meets Koji, an asylum-seeing African doctor. Though their friendship gets off to a rocky start, and Kate's nephew oftentimes must act as their mediator, a strong and unshakeable bond quickly forms between the two. Each begins to see qualities about themselves in the other, like their steadfast determination. This heart-warming sitcom is a refreshing reminder about how people from different backgrounds can find common ground.
