The series documents the lives of Canadians who live on the natural resources of the eastern coast of the country; they are the stories of people who keep the oldest traditions alive and protect their unique cultures and ways of life; each episode features a different aspect of Atlantic Canadian life, from the resources that economically fueled the region to family-owned businesses that have been staples in the area for generations; also included are episodes which focus on specific communities as well as recounts of historical events and true stories of survival and triumph.
