The endearing `Monty Python's Flying Circus' alumnus explores countries that were hidden behind the Iron Curtain for much of his earlier life but now are emerging to become a vibrant part of the `New Europe' that has followed the Soviet era. Among the many countries on the itinerary during this seven-part series are Bosnia, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and the Czech Republic.
