Folk artist Eric Dowdle travels across North America, meeting the local people, sampling food, learning about culture and touring local attractions in an effort to determine what makes each place unique. Each episode culminates in the creation of a piece of colorful folk art that symbolizes the place Dowdle has visited. Destinations include Plymouth Rock in Massachusetts; Canada's west coast city of Vancouver; Cancun, Mexico; the Black Hills of South Dakota; North Shore, Hawaii; and St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.
