Young, red-haired Pippi Longstocking is an irrepressible character created by Swedish author Astrid Lindgren in the 1940s. In this animated series, the freckle-faced girl with braids lives in a house without parents after her father leaves on a sailing trip. Even without parental supervision, she manages to overcome whatever obstacles get in her way. Helping Pippi along the way are her companions, Horse and Mr. Nilsson, along with neighbors Annika and Tommy.
