The Power Rangers are back as they try to continue their mission of ridding the world of evildoers. In this case the enemy is a massive alien army that has been sent to conquer Earth. The Rangers get help in their battle from Gosei, a supernatural guardian who has protected the planet for centuries. Gosei gives the group members special morphers and keys that allow them to transform into Super Megaforce Rangers. The Rangers also have a new special ability that allows them to transform into any Power Rangers team from the past.
