`Puberty Blues' is based on the book written by Kathy Lette and Gabrielle Carey. This coming of age drama series is set during the late 1970s and focuses on the lives of best friends Debbie and Sue. The two inseparable teenage girls are seen growing up together in the beachside suburb of Cronulla. As the years go on the two friends become torn apart over a love affair and their lives are threatened by the oncoming bush fires destroying their homeland.
