Heavyweight performances by Alfred Molina and Dawn French mark this simple, subtle comedy series, which follows the lives of middle-aged couple Roger and Val Stephenson after they've come through the door at the end of the working day. Married for more than 20 years, Roger and Val talk about issues dealing with work, their relationship and what to have for supper, and the half hour after they've arrived home is the perfect time to sort things out. Roger is a botanist, and his love for his wife is equalled only by his passion for gardening, while Val, a food technology teacher, has visions of moving up the chain at the local comprehensive.
