The people featured on "Rural Heritage" are not interested in using the latest technology. These people lead a life that puts spending time with family and community above modern inventions and conveniences. They achieve a sense of self-satisfaction and fulfillment by using the skills and technology that were available to earlier generations. The show illustrates how tasks like tilling, planting and harvesting fields or using oxen to skid logs in the woods are still useful in today's world. It may even help teach others how to perform such tasks. "Rural Heritage" is an offshoot of the magazine of the same name.
