This serialized drama revolves around two affluent Miami Beach hotel families, the Martins and the Capshaws, who have competed bitterly for generations. Roman Martin and Julia Capshaw fall in love, but their happiness is threatened when Roman is charged with the stabbing death of Julia's father. Both families are threatened by ruthless drug cartels, but Roman's overbearing mother and Julia's doting mom are prepared to stop at nothing to protect their families. Kelly Mitchell, a New York designer, has designs of her own on Roman, while Pilar Martin, Roman's religious sister, is falling in love with a mysterious stranger.
