The show follows the team of Mayor Randall M. Winston Jr of New York and his deputy mayor as they constantly try to keep him out of trouble with the media and the voters. Although Randall is the face of the administration, it’s the deputy mayor who is the real brains behind the operations and manages the mayor’s work as well as his public reputation with the help of the rest of the staff who are also a collection of odd-balls and half-wits who just end up making the task more difficult for the deputy mayor.
