`The Starlings' follows the lives of the title family, a typical working-class clan living in a house in Derbyshire. Following a recent incident at the old folks' home where he had been staying, Grandad is invited by his son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Jan, to move into their already crammed family home with them, their three children and newborn grandson. The Starling children are football-crazy tomboy daughter Charlie, reptile enthusiast son Graham aka `Gravy' and model daughter Bell, mother to baby Zac.
