This two-part adaptation of Terry Pratchett's novels 'The Colour of Magic' and 'The Light Fantastic' features Rincewind who, after being expelled from Unseen University, fails at even the most basic level of wizardry. His head holds one of the eight spells of the Octavo, the Discworld's most powerful spellbook, but he cannot learn others. When Rincewind befriends tourist Twoflower and his luggage, they flee following a dispute with the owner of the inn where they were staying. While travelling across the disc, they face a number of challenges, including near-death experiences with a variety of mythical creatures and being taken prisoner in the Kingdom of Krull.
