`That Day We Sang' is a musical film written and directed by Victoria Wood, who originally wrote the drama as a stage play. The 90-minute one-off special centres around the children who performed together as Manchester Children's Choir in 1929, and follows them 40 years later during a reunion. One ex-choir boy, insurance salesman Tubby, reminisces about who he was and how music inspired him to be a better person. Also attending the event is Enid, who has been living a self-constricting lifestyle and is touched by the powerful memories of being in the choir. Brought together by their experience and passion for music, Tubby and Enid begin a relationship.
