"The Birth of Britain" follows host Tony Robinson as he travels across the landscape of Britain and explores how the islands were shaped into what they look like today. In the past, Britain was covered in mountains taller than Everest and housed animals now only found on the African savannah, and Robinson is on a mission to find out how it all changed. His travels include investigating evidence of past volcanic activity and visiting some of the country's most scenic areas, which were once covered in sheets of ice more than a mile thick.
