`The Cafe' takes place in and around, what else, a cafe in Weston-Super-Mare that is run by the trio of Mary, Carol and Sarah. The cafe, which serves as the seafront town's social hub, plays host to people of all walks of life providing an honest portrayal of life in a typical British seaside resort. Sarah, who is in her late 20s, recently moved back home from London and many of her friends and adversaries from school still live in the area and are regulars at the cafe, including former childhood sweetheart, Richard, and Sarah's oldest friend, Chloe.
