Written by award-winning writer Andy Wolton, `The Cooper vs the Rest' is a comedy-drama following a family of five as they share a small house. Tanya Franks plays the role of mum Tess whose childhood experiences prompts her to adopt three children with her husband Toby. With limited time and money the couple try to meet the needs of their young brood, Frankie, Alisha and Charlie. In the pilot episode Toby deals with his daughter's new interest in religion and Tess thinks gate-crashing Charlie's classmate's 8th birthday party will increase his popularity.
