Adventurer Ben Fogle travels across the plains of Africa in this documentary series. Over four episodes the presenter follows the natural migration of wildebeest, with the help of Dr Grant Hopcroft, who has been given permission to satellite tag the animals. The journey itself takes place throughout a one-year period, covers an approximate distance of 650 kilometres and captures a herd of 2 million wildebeest. On his path Fogle meets with the cattle-herding Maasai and the hunter-gathering Hadzabe tribes, as the migration takes him over river crossings, across the Serengeti and into wild woodlands.
