"The Hook Up" puts a modern twist on the dating game, as contestants -- with assistance from friends -- seek a perfect match based on knowing potential dates' social media habits. Host Andrew Schulz (MTV2's "Guy Code") guides a single contestant through exercises designed to eliminate would-be dates based on exposing their online images, including status updates, tweets, photos and videos. Schulz then reveals secrets, quirks and habits about the remaining two daters, and the single decides if these are deal breakers. After a "hookup" is chosen, the winning dater gets to see the single's online dirt before accepting the date or choosing a tempting alternative prize.
