Based on the Man Booker Prize-winning novel of the same name by Eleanor Catton, `The Luminaries' is a tale of love and revenge set in New Zealand at the height of the 1860s gold rush. Anna Wetherell embarks on a journey to New Zealand from Britain in search of a new life. Along the way she meets the enigmatic Emery Staines, and the pair pursue their fortunes in the South Island town of Hokitika.
