This romantic comedy follows the life of Dr. Mindy Lahiri (Mindy Kaling), an obstetrician/gynaecologist working in a small medical office in New York City. Attempting to maintain both her personal and professional life, Mindy and her odd co-workers attempt to keep their office afloat while dealing with whatever life throws at them. Mindy works with Dr. Danny Castellano, her friend and another OB/GYN who pushes aside his feelings with bickering, and Dr. Jeremy Reed, their hapless and charming supervisor. Along with nurses and receptionists, Mindy and her friends find themselves in some interesting and hilarious situations. Mindy's character was inspired by series star and creator Mindy Kaling's mother, who was an OB/GYN.
