"The Real Winning Edge" shines the spotlight on young people across America who have overcome adversity in their lives and turned obstacles into triumphs. Each episode profiles three high school or college students who are doing positive things for themselves and people around them. Each student is introduced by a celebrity who is a role model in the same field of talent as the student. The featured students come from disciplines that include sports, music and acting. Celebrities who have appeared on the show include NASCAR racer Jeff Gordon, professional tennis player Chris Evert and Olympic gymnast Shannon Miller.
