Single mother Sally Wilson, whose teenage daughter, Amanda, is stricken with a brain tumor, discovers that she has been bequeathed £5 million, but the money comes with a catch -- in order to get it, Sally must kill a man who `deserves to die'. Morally confused by the proposition, Sally confides in her security guard boyfriend, Mark, who is like a father figure to Amanda. Sally knows a life-saving operation in America is needed to save Amanda's life but she cannot afford the operation. In the end, Sally has to decide whether to end a man's life in order to save her own daughter's.
