Capt. Guy Hubble is an ex-guardsman who saw action in Cyprus and Northern Ireland. He is now the head of security at Buckingham Palace car park. But after saving the queen's life in an act of bravery, he is appointed as Royal Bodyguard. Although he takes his new role seriously, he manages to upset foreign ambassadors, his colleagues and members of the public due to the way he haphazardly carries out his security checks. Hubble also takes on personal rescue missions for the queen and her family. Despite repeatedly managing to endanger royal security, Hubble somehow always comes out of it smelling of roses.
