`The Secret Agent' is a drama adaptation of Joseph Conrad's novel of the same name. Toby Jones stars as Verloc the owner of a seedy shop based in London's Soho, while Vicky McLure plays the role of his devoted wife Winnie. Set in 1886, Verloc is approached by the Russian embassy and offered a financial reward to spy on a notorious anarchist group. Part of his mission includes sourcing a bomb from The Professor, and staging a bombing by the anarchists. However, even after infiltrating the anarchist cell, they refuse to cooperate prompting Verloc to enlist the help of Winnie's younger brother Stevie.
