A shocking family incident forces Mark Nicholas to return to the town where he was raised, back to memories he'd rather keep dormant, and also forces him to re-establish relationships with his family and one-time friends. He barely knows his teenage sister Jodie, and he finds his grandmother, Betty, is living in the bedroom he used as a kid. Hardest of all is confronting Alice, his first love who is now married with a child. As Mark becomes reacquainted with his past, there are inevitable awkward moments - the town and its people haven't changed, but it all feels foreign to him - and he struggles to decide whether he should permanently stay to help his family.
