2011-Present Reality TV
The Voice is a reality show singing competition unlike any other. Contestants sing in blind auditions in front of four celebrity artists (these artists often vary). The celebrities sit in chairs turned away from the contestants. Once the singer comes on stage and begins to sing, the celebrity artists have the option of pushing a buzzer to try to get the contestant on his or her team. Should more than one judge hit their buzzer and turn around, then the contestant can select the artist they would prefer to go with. Once the audition round is completed the artists rely on their celebrity mentors to enter the battle round. The person who makes it to the end wins a recording contract as a grand prize.
