Instead of attempting to survive harsh conditions himself in a remote location, Grylls leaves the heavy lifting to 12 British men and women, whom he abandons on an uninhabited island in the Pacific for five weeks. It's an experiment to see if they can fend for themselves without the comforts of 21st-century living. Basic rations of food and water will run out quickly, and then the work for their very survival begins. But survival isn't the only thing on their minds - £100,000 has been dropped across the island and only those who make it to the end, will have a chance of leaving the island with the cash.
